Val Ackerman Inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of FameFormer WISE Woman of the Year, Val Ackerman, was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in July 2010. Long-time supporter of WISE, Ms. Ackerman's long and stellar career includes being a senior executive at the NBA for eight years, the first female president of USA Basketball and most probably best-known as the founding president of the WNBA (1996).Watch interview with Rebecca Lobo Ackerman currently serves as an executive committee member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and USA Basketball Board of Directors. She is a member of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics and teaches Leadership and Personnel Management at Columbia University.
