Program Information



Participant Eligibility Criteria
  • All participants must be WISE members in good standing at time of application and through the duration of the program.
  • Applicants must meet the experience level criterion set forth by the local chapter.*

Program Structure and Time CommitmentNYC WISE Within Group Session
  • Six-month* program from fall until spring.
  • Required attendance at three* onsite group sessions.
  • One-to-one meetings with your mentoring partner, either in-person or by phone (a minimum of once every four weeks). At least two meetings should be in-person.

Participant Expectations
  • Participants sign an agreement which outlines program guidelines.
  • Participants enter into a one-to-one enter into a one-to-one mentoring relationship.
  • Each mentoring pair establishes a specific career-oriented goal at the outset and then works toward achieving that goal over the course of the program.
  • Participants attend a series of facilitated, onsite group sessions that are integral elements of the program. These sessions allow for dialogue among the group, giving participants the opportunity to develop additional professional connections, address career issues, discuss challenges and solutions, and share different perspectives.

  • Mentoring is a mentee-driven, mentor-guided process.
  • Mentoring is a two-way, active learning exchange.
  • Confidentiality is essential to the success of the partnership.
  • Goals, roles, expectations and time frames are clearly defined at the onset.
  • Mentoring creates an environment of mutual support and sharing among professionals.
